This pan-fried sea bass with a bright lemon garlic herb sauce is an elegant yet simple dish that brings out the natural flavour of the fish. Crispy, golden skin and tender, flaky flesh pair beautifully with a zesty and aromatic sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal or an impressive dinner, it’s a dish that delivers both flavour and style with minimal effort.
Ingredients:
- 2 sea bass fillets
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Sea Bass:
- Pat the sea bass fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cook the Sea Bass:
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the sea bass fillets skin-side down.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving, until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through. Transfer the fillets to a plate.
Make the Lemon Garlic Herb Sauce:
- Lower the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook for another minute or so until the sauce thickens slightly.
Serve:
- Pour the lemon garlic herb sauce over the sea bass fillets. Garnish with lemon slices, if desired, and serve immediately.
