Serves 4 | Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 10 mins

Fresh, flaky, and full of flavour — these garlic and herb grilled tuna steaks are the perfect way to enjoy high-quality fish without any fuss. With a simple lemon and thyme marinade, this recipe brings out the natural richness of Just Caught tuna, creating a light and healthy meal that’s ready in minutes.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons minced fresh thyme (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
4 tuna steaks
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. In a container with a lid, mix together the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and thyme. Add the tuna steaks and turn to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for up to 30 minutes, turning the tuna occasionally to let the flavours infuse.
  2. When ready to cook, remove the tuna from the marinade and season with salt and pepper. Discard any remaining marinade.
  3. Lightly oil the grill rack, then grill the tuna steaks over medium-high heat for around 3–4 minutes on each side. You’re aiming for a lightly charred outside with a tender, slightly pink centre, perfect for medium-rare.
  4. Alternatively, you can broil the tuna about 4 inches from the heat for the same amount of time.
  5. Serve hot with a drizzle of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, and a sprinkle of fresh herbs for that perfect fresh-from-the-grill flavour.

Simple, fresh, and full of flavour, these garlic and herb grilled tuna steaks are a reminder that good fish needs very little fuss. Using Just Caught tuna ensures a rich, meaty texture and clean ocean taste that shines through with every bite. Perfect for summer barbecues, light lunches, or quick midweek dinners, it’s an easy way to bring restaurant-quality seafood to your table.
